| FallenAnjel Member 2017-Jun-21 7:59 pm She did. And I'm doing it again for her. Right now it's "preparing service". And the time just came on. It's the black Samsung HD box. |

FallenAnjel | FallenAnjel Member 2017-Jun-21 8:08 pm Now I have this. It's been 15 min. It's not her account, it's her sister's, and her sister is not home so we can't call until she gets home later tonight. |

FallenAnjel | FallenAnjel Member 2017-Jun-22 7:46 pm well she got the new box today and it's doing the same thing. I told her to hook it up to another tv and see if it does the same thing. Could a bad hdmi cable to that? There's quite a few splits in the house too, there's 3 tvs. but it's never happened before. Any ideas? |

| Bink63 Premium Member 2017-Jun-22 8:08 pm HDMI simply delivers the picture and sound from the box to the TV, sounds like something happened to the service drop to the residence. Any big storms there the past few days? |

Yeah I'm thinking that too. I'm wondering if she had something hooked up wrong. I was there last night and now that I think about it, she had two coax cables into the box. but she has an hdmi cable from the box to the tv. I didn't even realize it until tonight when she called me and told me the box was doing the same thing, however she didn't have the two coax's hooked up. she could have inadvertently hooked up the second coax but it would have been after the box went out for the first time, maybe she messed w/ the wires. I didn't look closely at the wires, I didn't think she would have changed any wires around. Her sister is taking the box from her room and hooking up in my friend's room to see if it works. if it does when we know the problem is something else. I'll let you know what happens. |

Member 2017-Jun-22 9:11 pm to FallenAnjelUm, pardon me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure that the set-top box only has one coax slot. Either way, the issue as others have stated definitely seems to be a wiring issue. Like you stated, trying the box in another functioning room would rule out any box related issues. |

Member 2017-Jun-22 10:39 pm to FallenAnjelIt's a box specific error code that shouldn't re-occur if the box is swapped. After swapping, is the error different? |

| FallenAnjel Member 2017-Jun-29 1:23 am the box was tried in another room and it worked fine. Turns out it was definitely a wiring problem. Her son came over and fixed it and it's working now. I KNEW it would be something so simple and I tried not to think too hard and we see how that went. lol Thanks everyone for all your replies! |
